Infrastructure Overview

WEBCARGO is a 100% hosted SAS solution, designed from the ground up to be robust, secure and fault tolerant.

Performance, Reliability & Redundancy

WEBCARGO employs a combination of intelligent load-balancing, centralized transactional data persistence, distributed session state and distributed RAID storage. This system architecture allows for media servers to be added or removed on-the-fly as necessary for scaling up capacity, throughput, or for routine maintenance and system updates. All transactional data is centralized and mirrored.

Our dedicated servers are co-located with Superb Internet Corporation, providing us with a high performance, fully redundant IP network and a 100% uptime SLA.

WEBCARGO servers are monitored around the clock and operations staff are instantly notified if there is an incident. Incidents are triggered whenever key metrics fall outside the bounds of nominal system behavior, including: irregular spikes (or dips) in network traffic, load averages, disk utilization, user activity, system log abnormalities, and slow or non-response from a server.

Service Availability

WEBCARGO aims for the delivery service to be available 24/7/365. Our system architecture allows us to perform server and software upgrades "in rotation" so as to keep the service available at all times. While individual servers may be taken offline for periodic maintenance this is done in a manner that is invisible to the end-user. On the rare occasion where we are required to bring the entire system offline, our operations staff will limit down-time to the absolute minimum and only do so during off-peak hours.

Privacy & Security

WEBCARGO takes your privacy and the confidentiality of your data seriously. We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your data. WEBCARGO has imposed strict rules on employees who have access to the servers that store client data. Only persons who have a need to know your personal information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy have access to the personal data you choose to provide to us.

All WEBCARGO servers are dedicated machines and are locked in secure rooms with high-grade card access systems, and are under video surveillance with security officers present around the clock.

All data moves through WEBCARGO using 256-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption—the same encryption strength used for institutional trading and online banking. Because WEBCARGO is web-based, files moves only at the request of authorized users and only through the standard https port: 443. Our servers run CentOS Linux as their operating system. Servers are regularly updated against vulnerability threats as patches are made available and tested by our engineering team.

Note: You are responsible for the security of your WEBCARGO ID and password. Please take care when using and storing them. WEBCARGO recommends that you do not divulge your password to anyone. You should log out at the end of each session to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence, especially if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place. Should you ever wish to block access to an account or suspect that your password has been compromised, contact Client Support and we will resolve the situation immediately.

We’re Here for You

Unlike most online services, we actually answer the phone when it rings. As we see it, what good is a service if you can't actually speak to someone when you need to? We like hearing from our clients and encourage you to call us when you need to.

Client Support is available via phone and e-mail on weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM Eastern. Network Operations staff are online and on-call 24/7.
